Yannic Forster Trio

Yannic Forster Trio
German pianist and bandleader Yannic Forster has recently immersed himself in music from the Middle East. His melodic compositions reflect a deep attention to detail, taking the listener on a musical journey full of subtle surprises.

Inspired by artists such as Avishai Cohen, Shai Maestro, and Olivier Messiaen, he builds a musical bridge between the ancient East and the contemporary West. Drummer Damian de Muijnck and double bassist Zack Lober craft their rhythms with and around each other, creating intricate textures that form the foundation for the singing melody.

After releasing a single in 2020, their first EP followed in 2023. In 2025, they released their long-awaited debut album Waning Moon in collaboration with Denise Jannah – a collection of original compositions in which the trio explores a rich palette of colors, rhythms, and moods. The lyrics were written by Denise Jannah, while the compositions were created by Yannic Forster.

Duo Scatz

Linda Ropa on vocals and Yannic Forster on piano make up the duo ‘Scatz.’ They met during their Master’s program at the Utrechts Conservatorium in the Netherlands. What brings them together is a shared passion for improvised music. In addition to some original pieces, they enjoy putting a personal twist on classic jazz repertoire, ranging from relaxed bossa nova to swinging blues and vibrant up-tempo jazz.
